Looking for the right Logobrand designer (the edge of space)

I would like to work with the right creative on a project that I recently acquired:

Background:
More than simply a luxurious vacation destination, this Caribbean spot is said to have all the elements for business and private investment. With a less than 30 minute plane ride from the US, they have the infrastructure for world standard services and an economic zone of nearly 300 miles. Their goal, since 1955, has been to attract international companies and discerning investors looking to locate in the region. There unique selling points include: (1) Superb quality of life fully integrated into the world economy (2) highly skilled labor force and advanced telecom services , (3) Investment Incentives & Advantages

Objective:
Develop an original/unique brand identity via a logo that communicates the message.

Brand Development
The organization is looking to create a strong global image as an industrial powerhouse with diverse economic attractions all within reach and strong foundations in the 5 strategic core focuses: Logistics & Transportation, Alternative Energy, E commerce, lifestyle & entertainment, and tourism. Currently, they are working with the idea of a "transferable" logo that can stand on its own and or used in silhouette. Thus, it provides the framework for the variations that capture the strategic focuses while retaining the basic elements.

Three design concepts come to mind:
1. Minimally treated type font with the design elements captured in the background. As for a loose example: http://www.versacreations.net/images/Others/YourSingaporeLogo.jpg which also becomes: http://theinspirationroom.com/daily/design/2010/9/your_singapore_logo_board_1.jpg . I say loose b/c a using a map of the island has already been done and to duplicate the idea is not really impressive.
2. Type font with the design enhanced elements captured within the font: ie - https://foursquare.com/venue/4e0c3257ae60909ff1487846/photos
3. A concept from the right artistic graphic designer. While our company is leaning towards the second concept, we would be interested in seeing what other ideas you may have prior to commencing the work.

We shall provide further details once we have partnered with our designer. Our selection process is based on sample work & design skills vs. talent costs as well as the designer's ability to convey the business objectives.

Thank you for your time and I look forward to your response. Please send, as a strong portfolio will be the basis for our selection.

Location: the edge of space Compensation: we have a budget and we are looking to work with the right abled talent Principals only. Recruiters, please don't contact this job poster. Please, no phone calls about this job! Please do not contact job poster about other services, products or commercial interests.
