Seeking AllStar Jr Graphic Designer Production Artist (SOMA south beach)

Strategic communications firm in SOMA is seeking a talented graphic designer/ production artist with an understanding and appreciation of good design.

Our firm is looking for a talented individual to work closely with project teams to support the design and production of a wide variety of communication projects ranging from print to web. While this position is both design and production, you will spend about 20% of your time leveraging brands across many facets of communication campaigns. A keen eye for excellence of overall design aesthetic and detail is required.

Job involves creating collateral pieces with within defined corporate style guides, as well as creating the guides themselves. Candidates must have a developed understanding of design hierarchy, typography and use of photography.

As part of our small and growing team, the candidate must be flexible and willing to perform multiple tasks ranging from creating pieces of printed collateral, designing and editing PowerPoint templates, developing mock-ups and even mounting display boards.

In this role, communication and organization skills are as important as solid production skills in this fast paced, yet fun and rewarding environment. Know that you will be asked to not only present your skills, but also may be asked to prove your merit in variety of standard graphics applications.

Overview:
- Contract position (potential for full-time hire)
- 20 – 30 hours per week estimated

General Requirements:
- San Francisco Bay Area residence ONLY
- Great attitude
- Required to be on-site 2 - 5 days per week at San Francisco office in SOMA
- Minimum 2 years recent hands-on graphic design experience required
- Excellent communication skills
- Comprehensive experience with design and business applications on the Mac OS:
− CS 3 and 4 (Illustrator, PhotoShop, Acrobat, InDesign, etc.)
− Excel and Word (reading, creating, editing)
− Presentation Software (PowerPoint, Keynote, etc.)
- Information graphics and icon development expertise
- Mock-up skills
- Excellent personal/ team skills
